Legal Counsel (International Payment Service)

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise internal stakeholders and negotiate with external counterparties on a variety of commercial agreements, including third party agreements, operations agreements, services agreements, partnerships, and marketing agreements
• Liaise with specialist external counsel in relation to original new products and expansion into new markets, include relationship with regulators and licenses application process
• Provide time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal inquiries in connection with all aspects operations
• Working on regional legal and regulatory projects
• Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and advising the business on the impact of such regulatory developments
• Conduct legal research and draft memorandums
• Contribute to template development, process improvement and internal training, identifying and resolving opportunities to simplify workflows
• Identify and drive forward improvements to commercial contracting processes and systems to improve efficiency of the legal function, proactively managing legal resource
• Partner with multiple stakeholders for the business with a focus on building relationships and forward planning

Requirements:

• Candidate should have 2+ years post qualification experience and be from an established in-house legal team or established private practice law firm with international legal
• Excellent English skills (written and oral) are a must
• Strong client-service and customer orientation and strengths in forming good working relationships
• Strong collaborator and team-player
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong experience in advising clients on commercial contract matters (past experience in: regulatory, payments, IP, IT is a plus) across a broad range of areas including Financial Services, Technology and Corporates
• Proven experience working with stakeholders across multiple timezones to tight deadlines
