Financial Controller Marketplace

Description:

• As a member of management team, the Financial Controller has the oversight for all value creation activities in the one of the business vertical (segment) of Ozon Group and is responsible for all core accounting and front to back/month end processes including all posting and reconciliations of all transactions for this business segment
• Within this role, the Financial Controller acts as the key business partner to the business segment’s leaders, while constantly ensuring financial compliance with all relevant internal and external standards

Duties & responsibilities:

• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
• Providing the documentation to external auditors to help ease the auditing process
• Set procedures that dictate how the departments operate to keep the business segment in line with group policies/standards and to be in compliant with IFRS standards, SEC regulations and fiscal requirements
• Performing period end controls and analytical reviews of the monthly results to ensure the reasonability and accuracy of transactions and reports
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting ERP development and improvement, as needed
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff

Requirements:

• The role requires at least seven years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, a master’s degree in business administration or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA) or chartered global management accountant (CGMA) would be preferable
• Controllers must have solid interpersonal skills, including collaboration and communication, technology, analytical and problem solving skills, managerial abilities and Integrity
• Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of IFRS, RAS and TAX as well as knowledge of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
