Legal Counsel (Chile)

About the job

Yandex is currently seeking Legal Counsel with around five or more years of PQE to support our AdTech products, B2B/B2C online services, and marketing projects in Chile. Excellent command of English is one of the main requirements for this position.

Tasks that await you

• Manage a variety of legal matters, organizing and advising on appropriate action such as service and procurement contract support, leasing, advertising, IP, data protection regulations, and communicating with regulatory authorities
• Apply relevant experience in practical areas like complex service transactions, commercial transactions, advertising, data protection regulation, intellectual property, compliance, and regulatory matters
• Manage the company’s corporate law issues in Chile (making corporate changes, obtaining new licenses, changing addresses and articles of association, opening bank accounts, obtaining quotas for foreign employees)
• Act as an advisor on legal matters involving the company, including labour law, office maintenance, advertising, and IP, while also coordinating legal issues handled by outside counsel
• Draft clear and concise terms and conditions, terms of use, and policies for services
• Draft, review, and counsel on a wide range of commercial transactions and contract needs for different companies in the Yandex group
• Negotiate with partners
• Manage outside counsel on complex research issues

We expect that you

• Law degree from a top-tier university and 5+ years of relevant PQE
• Admittance to the bar and good standing or other authorization to practice law in Chile
• Excellent command of English
• Permanent residency in Chile
• Solid risk assessment skills
• Advanced legal research skills
• Proven ability to apply known legal principles to an unfamiliar set of facts
• Competence and confidence to influence, persuade, communicate, and negotiate
• Demonstrated track record in managing relationships with outside counsel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
