About the job:

• We are currently seeking a freelance German Sign Language (Deutsche Gebärdensprache) Interpreter candidate to join our team in support of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing applicants during online verification interviews

What you will do:

• Provide courteous and professional support to the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing applicants who would like to register on our clients’ platforms, while maintaining appropriate boundaries and respectful attitude
• Perform video interviews via video calls
• Check applications including personal data
• Conduct an assessment of applicants’ documents for compliance with anti-money laundering and data protection regulations
• Analyse applicants’ behaviour for signs of malicious activities
• Share the feedback to the clients

About You:

• Thorough knowledge of German Sign Language (Deutsche Gebärdensprache) supported by certification/qualification
• Knowledge of other manual expressive and respective communication models, e.g. International Sign Language or American Sign Language will be a plus
• Thorough knowledge of deafness and deaf culture
• Preferred 1+ year of experience in service the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Community
• Respect for diversity and inclusivity
• Sufficient adaptability and availability to accept a work schedule which is variable depending on clients’ needs
• Advanced German and Upper Intermediate English
