• A bit about the team:
• The Technical Writers Team focuses on managing a broad range of developer documentation: from integration tutorials to API references. We work with SMEs and readers from multiple teams. We’re moving towards docs-as-code, so knowing how to work an IDE and Git is a must. We’re also involved in broader Knowledge Management activities and projects.

Responsibilities

• Document new infrastructure products, features, and APIs.
• Document standards, guidelines, and best practices for engineers.
• Organize documentation and make it easily discoverable.
• Maintain content quality through curation and content performance analysis.
• Push Semrush’s infrastructure forward by dreaming up and implementing new ways to deliver, author, analyze, and interact with technical content.
• Translating P&D documents from RU to EN.
• Editing and updating documents.
• Writing technical documents from scratch.

Requirements

• Experience writing technical documents—including API docs—for the software developer audience. A deep understanding of technical documentation types and knowledge of how to create not only a good article but a structured and connected web of docs.
• Extensive experience with docs-as-code (command line, Git, markup languages).
• Ability to read and understand Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience creating infographics, diagrams, or other media for docs. You know how to effectively use such media.
• You proactively gather information through research and pursuing SMEs.
• Fluency in English and knowledge of how to adjust your writing style for different audiences.
• Fluency in Russian.
