DevOps Engineering Intern (Summer 2023, in Taiwan)

About the Internship

• Depending on your background and experience, you will be joining in one of the following teams:
• (1) As an intern in Yahoo! Search PE team, you will work with some of the brightest and most talented engineers around the world on both important and exciting projects.
• You will be able to participate in many special events such as marathon programming contests, known as Hackdays, architectural review meetings where your input will shape Yahoo, and attend lectures given by some of the foremost experts in their field.
• On a daily basis you will drive your innovations and gain valuable industry experience. You will also have full access to as many free drinks, snacks, and meals as you want.
• (2) The Consumer Engineering team in Taiwan develops and operates websites in more than 25+ regions, including Yahoo Homepage, Topic, Video, Engadget Chinese, providing premium digital contents to millions of users in the international market every day.
• We are hiring world-class engineers/interns who love to build robust and scalable software systems to meet our incredibly ambitious user experience, performance, and revenue goals.

Responsibilities

• Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure.
• Working with team to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.

Qualifications

• You Must Have:
• Currently attending or getting permission from college or graduate school programs in 2023 Summer.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or related engineering discipline.
• Understand Linux administration, monitoring and system tuning.
• Proficient with git and git workflows.
• Good knowledge of Ruby or Python or Javascript.
• Proactive, good problem solving skills, and a team player. Superb communication skills and interpersonal skills while working with cross-cultural teams.
• Preferred:
• Experience with software engineering or software development in tests.
• Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation.
• Knowledge of Public cloud technologies, AWS, EC2, ELK, Lambda, Cloudfront, S3.
• Knowledge in Container orchestration, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform.
• Security know-how on Operation system, network and application.
