  • Our history is in gaming, and we are gamers at heart. In our time within the games industry, we have worked on over 1500 titles across all genres and all platforms, including 8 out of the past 10 Game-Of-The-Year-winning titles.

Responsibilities

  • Planning out and iterating on all parts of the level design processes including, but not limited to: level flow, engagement design, pacing, storytelling
  • Hands-on working in Unity.
  • Collaborating with cross-discipline teams on storytelling, and creating exciting, innovative and engaging levels
  • Using player feedback to improve the gameplay experience
  • Working closely with the Lead Designer and the project team on creating an unforgettable player experience.
  • Plan, execute and refine your levels from high-level concept to low-level scripting
  • Use player feedback and design direction to hone the gameplay experience
  • Liaise closely with your Leads to identify and prioritize feature work essential for creating content of sufficient quality and variety
  • Meet with key team members to ensure that everyone understands the goal and plan for a content design before its implementation
  • Set the standard and hold the internal vision for what elevates the content in your project and evangelize this throughout the team, especially more junior-level designers
  • Create high-level overviews of new content and concepts to quickly convey ideas both internally and externally, ideally using quick visualization tools (Sketch-Up/Pro-builder)
  • Seek efficiency where possible; look to save time through natural cross-over, reuse or alignment of functionality and content across the game
  • Continuously look for ways to improve or expand on the game experience through creating ideas for new mechanics or features.
  • Play a key role in designing and developing custom level editing tools and basic scripting, feeding back and pushing for greater efficiency in these tools across the team
  • Troubleshoot and help solve design and content challenges or problems that arise during the game development process
  • Native level English

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' game industry experience in a Level/Content Designer role.
  • Industry experience and at least 1 shipped title that featured a multiplayer component, worked on from beginning to end.
  • Single player/multiplayer experience.
  • A solid understanding of level design fundamentals.
  • Level creation experience in Unity.
  • Experience of supporting other Level Designers with your technical level design experience – e.g. creating metric workflows that ensure gameplay consistency or exposing/creating blueprint functionality for other level designers to use
  • Scripting experience
  • Strong technical and art skills: Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Maya, 3DS Max or other professional 3D modelling software
  • Able to create the environment for initiatives and ideas to emerge and grow.
  • A creative, agile and player-centric mindset.
  • The ability to work within constraints and to specific briefs.
  • A deep passion and knowledge of the games industry.
  • Can work independently and unsupervised to a high standard.
  • Great communication and collaboration skills; the ability to work openly with their team and pivot through other disciplines.
