Digital Communications Specialist (in Italy)

Responsibilities:
- Contribute towards the design, formulation and delivery of a communication strategy that helps promote PROR services among RBs and COs, with PRORL/F Comms FPs
- Contribute to the preparation of key messages to be used across the organization
- Act as a focal point and liaise with CAM to align priorities, strategies and messaging, while creating and providing industry-standard products to help promote resilience work and the Changing Lives agenda both internally and externally
- Identify country level stories to be told through engaging multimedia material on issues related to resilience and food systems, including videos, photos and stories
- Identify content advocating for the PROR Service externally and internally and collaborate with PROR communications team to to plan social media campaigns, in line with CAM social media strategies and platforms
- Manage the procurement and delivery of external providers - such as creative agencies, video makers, graphic designers - ensuring quality and cost-efficiency are in line with WFP standards
- Help document programmes, projects, and/or activities undertaken by COS and RBx, and coordinate the packaging and dissemination of content across multiple and relevant channels, both internal and external
- In collaboration with CAM, review the online presence of WFP’s work around food systems and resilience, both on external and internal websites
- Assist with the revision of texts and/or documents to be published by the team
- Contribute to the implementation of standard operational-supporting material for COs implementing food systems/resilience programmes
- Collaborate with COs in their communication efforts to promote relevant stories and reports produced locally
- Actively participate in communications support missions in RBs, COs and the field, as needed, to collect success stories and design context-specific advocacy dissemination strategies
- Lead the design of blended communications products in line with those already developed for the Sahel Resilience Initiative
- Collaborate with other PROR Communications team members (PROR-L and PROR-F focal points) to develop communication products and when necessary joint products with other relevant programmatic areas (I.e. PRO-M, PRO-C. Etc.)
- Assist Communications Team with the development of reports and communication materials for donors
- Assist Communications Team with the development of WFP Management-facing communication material
Deliverables at the end of the contract:
- A communications plan outlining the dissemination of content, stories and campaigns on WFP’s work around resilience and food systems
- A revised and updated online presence of the unit’s work both on wfp.org and newgo (intranet)
- A standard package of operational-supporting material for COs to use as needed, including awareness/promotional material or others, as required by the CO
- High quality communication products for internal and external dissemination
- High quality WFP Management and donor-facing communication material
Education:
- Advanced University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or other related fields obtained from a reputable Institution
- Or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses
Experience:
- Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in highly disciplined and demanding communication environment needed
- Experience in marketing, branding, and communication campaigns is required
- Knowledge or familiarity with WFP’s work around Food Systems and WFP’s Changing Lives agenda is required
- Photography and video editing skills are required

- Languages:
- Fluency in oral and written English. Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese is an asset
