English Translator (with Russian, in Zurich)

These are your key tasks:

• Handling all assigned requests (e.g. translation, proofreading, transcription, subtitling) and delivering by the set deadline
• Clarifying all content-related and linguistic questions with the proofreader (if assigned) or the requester and, if relevant, keeping the Project Management & Technology Unit and Group Leader informed
• Writing minutes of Council and Congress meetings
• Conducting terminology work
• Answering linguistic questions from FIFA team members
• Reporting any issues to the Group Leader, in particular regarding meeting deadlines, in a timely manner
• Responding to the requests from the Group Leader, the Project Management & Technology Unit and the Head of the Department
• Following the processes established by the Project Management & Technology Unit
• Acting as project leader for internal projects

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

• Solid translation/linguistic background
• Interest in football
• English mother tongue
• Proficiency in translation into English from at least two official FIFA languages, including French and/or Spanish, and at least one of Arabic, Portuguese and/or Russian
• Up to date with the newest translation technologies available on the market
• Experience as a full-time translator and/or proofreader
• Experience of writing minutes of meetings
• Good knowledge of translation project management
• Experience of video subtitling (e.g. Aegisub)
