Senior Scrum Master (in China)

Key responsibilities:

• Be the glue that is able to understand, plan, and manage the cross-team and cross-country interdependencies and risks, devise solutions to risk mitigation and remove impediments
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups and multiple countries with competing priorities
• Create, maintain, and disseminate project information to stakeholders in China, Russia, India and HQ in the US, communicate project issues and status in a concise, accurate, and professional manner and be able to drive effective escalations as necessary
• Maintain/Improve transparency into the team’s work through product and sprint backlogs, burn-down charts, radiate information and over-communicate
• Guide and coach the scrum team on agile/scrum practices and values
• Facilitate effective and efficient meetings and Scrum rituals including Release and Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Daily standup
• Improve the velocity of the development team, at a sustainable pace for the team.
• Coach and support continuous process improvement within the team.

Ideal candidate will have:

• Proven project management experience of at least 5 years in relevant industry
• Strong writing and project management experience; working cross-functionally across a variety of departments (product, engineering, quality, UI/UX and more)
• Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional and international environment, to lead by influence and earn trust at all levels
• Preferably to have the expertise on scrum and knowledge of other agile methodologies such as XP, Kanban etc.
• A strategic thinker, skillful in finding the key problem behind the scene, good at problem solving, and conflict management
• Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English
• Russian-speaking is preferred.
