Finance Assistant (in London)

About Company:

• ZeroAvia is a leader in zero-emission aviation, flying the world's largest hydrogen-electric aircraft since September 2020
• California-based startup ZeroAvia, which designs hydrogen engines for aircraft, raised $ 24.3 million, including from a fund funded by Bill Gates

Responsibilities:

• Own the day to day accounts payable process 
• Reconcile bank statements in Xero accounting software
• Point of contact for invoice status queries
• Manage employee expense reimbursements process
• Supporting Finance Manager with government grant reporting
• Support Finance Manager with month-ends, quarter-ends and year-end/yearly external audits
• Support on quarterly VAT returns filing 
• Assist with monthly payroll processing
• Assist finance team with ad-hoc projects

Training and Qualifications:

• Qualified through AAT/IAB or experience

Knowledge and Experience:

• Strong working knowledge of accountancy/bookkeeping principles, including purchase ledger
• Significant experience with accounting software, ideally Xero or similar
• Strong IT skills with particular knowledge of Excel within a finance/accounting context
• Previous experience in a similar role
