Description:

  • Basepaws is a unique pet health startup located in Los Angeles, CA. We create the world’s most innovative products for pets (a DNA Test and a Dental Health Test for cats), and are the world leader in companion animal genetics, creating a world where pets and their people benefit from insights powered by genetics and data.
  • We're looking for our first Product Marketing manager to help craft our product positioning, communication plan, optimize our funnel and customer journey and grow our revenue.
  • We are looking for someone who is passionate about product marketing, creating impactful communication plans, lead product launches, and enabling businesses to deliver better customer experiences. In this role, you will help drive the product marketing strategy, develop personas, drive experimentations, customer and market research. You are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a guru in product analytics. This person will be asked to demonstrate leadership, product and marketing thinking, and executional excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive experimentations and tests for existing and new products.
  • Conduct customers’ interviews and make go-to-market decisions. Define the primary product’s bottlenecks and customer pain points. Know how to work with them.
  • Collaborate with product management to develop product positioning and messaging based on customer segmentation.
  • Drive market research and competitor analysis to differentiate the product’s positioning in the market.
  • Participate in a marketing plan development for Basepaws, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  • Help define and lead product launches in partnership with Science, Marketing and Growth teams. You will play an integral role in shaping the product proposition, go-to-market strategies, and product development based on customer needs.
  • Lead funnel optimization and engagement growth.
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Growth team and be able to deliver measurable results.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 4+ years in product marketing.
  • Ability to work with KPIs and be responsible for measurable results in your area.
  • Ability to drive experimentation focused on conversion and engagement.
  • Experience conducting customer research, market research.
  • Strong copywriting skills, ability to communicate the product’s value and benefits to the market.
  • Analytical thinking with experience in data-driven marketing. Strong familiarity with research and analytics tools.
  • Ability to collect, read and interpret the data, understanding why and how to use the data you’ve collected.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make customers fall in love with the products.
  • You've done product marketing for a startup before.
