Legal Associate

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as partner to the Moscow office (and other offices) including the Finance and Human Resource Teams
• Structure, draft and negotiate (where necessary with legal counterparties) a variety of commercial agreements, including but not limited to, service agreements and NDAs
• Be responsible for and advising the business on data protection and related compliance matters in relation to the Russian Federation
• Offer counsel on wide-ranging legal issues within the company
• Advise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with commercial transactions
• Researching and anticipating legal issues that could impact the company, including helping guide the company’s data security & data privacy preparedness
• Continually improve our legal processes alongside the Group General Counsel to help us scale globally with a consistent but locally relevant approach
• Identify, research, analyze, and advise teams on a wide range of relevant legal topics, issues, and risks
• Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company globally

Role Requirements:

• Fluent in both Russian and English.
• Law degree from a recognized university
• Russian qualified lawyer
• 4-5 years of experience as a practicing lawyer with including at least 1-2 years in-house
• Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating contracts in both Russian and English
• Experience in Russian employment law and corporate and commercial transactions is highly preferred
• Strong understanding and application of global and national data compliance and security laws
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
• Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Exceptionally thorough, with excellent judgment
