Skills
- Russian qualified lawyer (full higher degree, including bachelor and master)
- 1-3 PQE
- capable to do corporate and structured lending/project finance (any additional capital markets experience would be a plus)
- Strong drafting and reviewing documentation skills
- Commercially minded
- Team player
Responsibilities
- Technical:
- Research, due diligence and information management
- Anticipating and meeting deadlines
- Drafts with reference to the legal and commercial arguments, writing succinctly, objectively and logically, demonstrating familiarity with relevant market standards and precedents, and supervises the production of less complex documentation
- Develops deep legal knowledge
- Considers implication of advice to your client, negotiates with good judgement and anticipate counter-arguments
- Client Relationship Management:
- Establishes positive relationships with the client, building rapport and establishing credibility with client
- Keeps abreast of developments in the business world, learn how clients’ businesses work and actively share insights gained from client interactions
- Demonstrates thorough market knowledge to identify current trends and concerns in relevant industry sectors
- Provides commercial and legal advice to the client
- Relaying client feedback to the responsible Partner or Managing Associate
- Work Management:
- Organises documentation and transaction plans effectively, demonstrating control of documentation
- Understands the full context of work, plans work effectively, identifying individuals’ responsibilities, priorities and deadlines
- Exercises financial discipline. Records time accurately and in accordance with the firm’s guidelines
- Develops and participates in group projects and initiatives including marketing and know-how projects
- Debriefing at the end of a matter or at other appropriate stages
- Business Development:
- Keeps up to date with client industry developments and their implications
- Contributes to quality know-how and transaction bibles and their upkeep
- Contributes to client pitches and attends pitches where appropriate
- Actively shares insights gained from client interactions
- Working With Others:
- Quickly establishes constructive and collaborative working relationships
- Makes yourself available, acting as a sounding board for colleagues, calling out inappropriate behaviour and facilitating flow of communication between team and other parts of the firm
- Inspires confidence and respect of others through all interactions
- Communicates effectively, adapts communication style in recognition of diverse working styles and different pressure points
- Energy and commitment, with a flexible and proactive approach
- Knowledge & Learning:
- Uses internal and external resources effectively to develop expertise and skills
- Regularly gives and seeks clear performance feedback to/from others
- Contributes to development of necessary precedents and know-how, and shares knowledge and learning with others
- Mentors less experienced associates and trainees
