We are currently seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Seasonal Pet Camp Counselor.
As a Seasonal Pet Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and enjoyable experience for pets attending our camp programs. This position requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a dynamic team. You will be responsible for supervising pets, leading activities, and ensuring a positive environment for both pets and their owners.
Please note: This is for a seasonal position, with flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and Engage Pets:
- Monitor and oversee the daily activities of pets in the camp, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Participate in group activities, including playtime, socialization, and enrichment exercises. Provide individualized attention to pets, recognizing and responding to their needs and behaviors.
- Conduct Activities:
- Organize and lead engaging activities such as games, agility courses, and training sessions. Implement enrichment programs that promote physical and mental stimulation for all pets. Ensure that all activities are safe and appropriate for each pet's size, temperament, and physical ability.
- Maintain Cleanliness and Safety:
- Ensure that all play areas, kennels, and facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Follow hygiene protocols and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all pets in our care. Report any health or behavioral concerns regarding pets to the management team promptly.
- Communicate with Pet Owners:
- Provide updates and feedback to pet owners about their pets' experiences during camp. Address any questions or concerns from pet owners with professionalism and care.
- Foster positive relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with fellow counselors and management to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new programs and activities.
- Assist in training new staff members as needed.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals, particularly dogs and cats, is preferred but not required.
- Experience in a pet daycare, boarding, camp or recreational setting is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both pets and their owners.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior and safety practices is beneficial.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and engage in physical activities, including walking, running, and playing with pets.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in animal science, veterinary technology, or a related field is a plus.

- Compensation: $12.00 - $14.00 / hour
